Windows Server Administrator/Network Engineer – Glen Ellyn

This individual will build Windows based servers. This will entail installing the operating system and layered products. The configuration and design, construction, installation, implementation, and admin of the Windows environments for infrastructure and application based servers. Develop and implement operational procedures and processes to support the environment. Working with supervisor to ensure the server requirements are properly defined and implemented, that industry standards regarding server hardware and software are metJob Duties High Level Overview: Expertise with Windows 2003 server architecture and OS fundamentals Expertise designing and implementing Enterprise level Windows server automated provisioning including tools such as Altiris. Ability to provide technical leadership in the testing and integration of various essential and high visibility projects. Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Virtual Server) Experience customizing the compute environment (via GPO, login scripts, profiles) Deep technical understanding of AD, DNS and DHCP in the enterprise Experience with issues around enterprise Software Deployment and Patch Management (i.e. SMS,WSUS) Ability to write technical and operational management documentation (Solution proposals, System design and engineering documents, Change Proposals, and Deployment Readiness Reviews). Background with enterprise server management (VBScript, ADSI, WMI) Troubleshooting/problem solving Participates in special projects. Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with manager and network architects on network optimization. Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information managing projects. Requirements: MCSE Minimum of 5 years work experience in a Network Engineer/Administrator/Data Center role/Enterprise Environment. Ability to meet deadlines while paying attention to details. Strong technical written and verbal communication skills. Team spirited attitude. Pluses Experience with JDedwards or Red Prairie Microsoft System Center (SMS/MOM) Citrix Sharepoint SQL 2005
